For every purchase of a Project 7 product, good is done in seven areas of need
Feed the Hungry, Heal the Sick, Hope for Peace, House the Homeless, Quench the Thirsty, Teach them Well and Save the Earth.

Featured Artist - KJ-52 ft. Lecrae

KJ-52s latest and eighth album release, fittingly titled Dangerous, could well be his most ambitious yet and sees him moving a little bit more away from the pop beats towards club beats and rock music and addressing a number of serious issues throughout. Of it he says: “The theme that runs throughout the record is God is calling us to live dangerously for Him. We have to be careful that we don’t give into the world, which is like drinking poison out of a gold cup. But as Christians, we can’t go along with the status quo or play it safe. There’s no room for laziness or complacency.”

The album sees him laying himself bare on title track Dangerous where he unveils his own weaknesses and faults, and of his step towards that way of songwriting he says: “At first, I felt it came off too judgmental, so I flipped it and put it on myself. It’s risky to do something like that, but if that means I have to put myself into an uncomfortable place to allow someone else to come with up with a resolution, then I’m okay with that. That only comes from the confidence God gives me and it’s just me being me, faults and all.”

Throughout the rest of the album he touches on a wide range of subjects including drugs, divorce, racism and the prejudices that can exist within churches too, particularly evident on his collaboration with Lecrae on latest single They Like Me which looks at race issues in church with each rapper talking about church from their own perspectives. The album also includes a host of other collaborations including Thi’sl, Canton Jones and Emily from Shine Bright Baby

Featured Artist - The War

Originally beginning under the name Starting Tuesday, they changed their name to The War having learned all about the issue of human trafficking and slavery. In learning about it, they began to ask themselves questions: Why don’t we know more about this? Is anything being done to stop it? What systems allow people to get away with such cruelty? And then began to ask what they could do to help create change.

The band say: “Great revolutions that take the world by storm start with individuals and with love. You and I are those individuals. If not us, then who? If not now, then when? Will it be easier when we have the impossible dream-life that we see on TV all the time? I don’t think so. Do we not want to be known as revolutionaries who did great things for the world and the future of humanity? How amazing would it be if we could say that we had given ourselves to something that is worthy of our time and our cause, rather than spending our lives perpetually trying to climb to the top of the socioeconomic ladder whose end can never really be reached! We have learned that we would be neglecting all that we believe in were we not to use our music and our lives as agents of change.”

So, they changed their band name to The War proclaiming that they “want to fight the fight against unspeakable things that happen in this world, and we want to fight against the apathy in American pop-culture that leads us not to do much of anything at all. We want to speak for those who have no voice, give water to those who are thirsty, and to help bring love and hope to the unloved and hopeless. Most of all, we want you to join us in this fight. Freedom is a song that all should be allowed to sing. This is what it means to be fully alive.”

Their latest EP, entitled Waving White, is out now and is about all that they’ve learnt, and they hope that it will challenge us all to stand up and charge forth with love and justice in our hands as fierce weapons of advocacy.
